Made from fruit grown entirely in the Tuki Tuki Valley at our Tuki Tuki and Terraces vinyards, the 2021 vintage is made with our very best parcels of Chardonnay produced under outstanding conditions. The two vineyards make for very complementary blending partners, both enjoying cooling afternoon sea breezes that help to retain fragrance and fresh acidity. These conditions are ideal for Chardonnay, the sole variety grown here on the opposing banks of the Tuki Tuki river.

TASTING NOTES
AROMAS
The 2021 TOM Chardonnay is a complex wine of great density. Aromas of fragrant citrus and riper stone fruit notes are overlaid with notes of roasted hazelnut and warm pastry, with a wisp of smokiness recalling struck flint.
BODY
The palate is full-bodied yet finely structured, carried by a seam of fresh acidity and a slate-like mineral edge that combine to give a sense of reined-in power delivered with focus and drive.
CELLARING
With careful cellaring, we expect this wine to continue to mature gracefully for six years
or more from vintage date. With age, the wine will develop more complex, savoury nuttiness and will gain breadth and richness on the palate.
