Church Road is the 2025 Regional Winner for its Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices
At the inaugural Hawke’s Bay Great Wine Capital’s ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ Awards, Church Road walked away as the 2025 Regional Winner for Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices.
These awards, which celebrate innovation and excellence in wine tourism throughout the greatest wine regions in the world, received over 5,000 votes from consumers voting for their favourite practices.
Only four wineries took the crown as 2025 Regional Winners, rewarding those who not only implement eco-friendly initiatives at their winery, but actively encourage the development of local tourism promoting an accessible wine tourism offer for all visitors as well.

“We ensure our guests learn about the sustainability promises at Church Road, including our Tiaki promise, our cellar door tastings which are supported by digital aids, so we run virtually paperless and after an 18-month rigorous process we have also become certified in Responsible Hosting.
“After being crowned one of the Great Wine Capitals of the world last year, these awards only solidify further that Hawke’s Bay is a leading destination in global wine tourism, and our team is dedicated to continuing to strive to be sustainable and responsible at every step, from grain to glass,” Brent concluded.
